Sun Moon Lake Ropeway

The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway connects Sun Moon Lake to the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, spanning a total length of 1,877 meters with a ride duration of approximately 7 minutes. It features 86 colorful cabins in four distinct colors: red, yellow, blue, and green, symbolizing the sun, moon, lake, and forest, respectively. Among them, the green cabins are crystal cabins with transparent floors, offering an exhilarating experience for thrill-seeking visitors. As you ride the ropeway, you will be treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of Sun Moon Lake, with distant vistas of Yuchi, the Puli Basin, and surrounding mountains. Additionally, you can catch a glimpse of the Sun Moon Lake Diversion Project’s engineering marvel—the Dazhu Lake Intake, as well as soar over the picturesque Smile Valley. During this 10-minute aerial journey, you will witness the ever-changing beauty of the lake, landscapes, and hydrological wonders, which transform with the shifting seasons, weather, and misty atmospheres.
