1988–1995：UFO Idles in Full Bloom—The Rapid Growing Period of Taiwan’s Popular Music
This was the period when Chen reached the peak of his creativity. His talent for composition also erupted like a volcano. The aforementioned new stars at UFO, such as Dave Wong, Chang Yu-Sheng, Augustine Yeh, Sun, Moon and Stars, and the famous star Sandy Lam from Hong Kong, all performed songs composed by Chen. Among these works, the classics that were Chen’s compositions included Chang Yu-Sheng’s “Miss Me” and “Miss You Every Day,” Dave Wong’s “Is It True That I Have Nothing Of My Own,” “Lone Star,” and “Roared to the Sun,” the Little Tigers’ “Free Journey” and “Look at Me Today,” Sandy Lam’s “Home Again Without You,” Julie Su Rui’s “Follow Your Feelings,” Oriental Express’s “Red Youth Is Knocking,” and Augustine Yeh’s “Put My True Heart In Your Hands.”
