Era：1937 Exhibition loan unit：Mr. Lin Tai-wei - Released in 1937 by Taiwan Columbia, “Ballad of the Southern Wind” was performed by Chun-chun and Ai-ai. The lyrics were written by Chen Jyun-yu, with music composed by Deng Yu-hsien. The song uses southern island scenery as a backdrop for a story of lost love. It belongs to the “new short song” (Shin-shōkyoku) genre, featuring arrangements with traditional Han Chinese instruments to enhance the local, tropical atmosphere of Taiwan.
