Record of "Open the Door Wide"

Era:1914 Exhibition loan unit:Mr. Lin Tai-wei - Founded in 1913, Nitchiku (Nipponophone) was Taiwan’s earliest record company. Led by company president Okamoto Kashitarō, a team of 15—including musicians Lin Shih-sheng, Fan Lien-sheng, Ho A-wen, Ho Ming-tien, Huang Fang-jung, Wu Shih-an, and Peng A-tseng—traveled from Taiwan to Japan to conduct the first-ever commercial recordings of Taiwanese music. This marked a historic milestone in Taiwan’s sound history. In 1914, Nitchiku released Taiwan’s first records. The very first disc featured “A String of Years” on one side and “Grand Opening” on the other—signaling the opening of Taiwan’s own phonographic era.
