Reflecting on her journey, Cindy Chao now describes her state of mind as “light and free as a feather, effortlessly balancing weight.” In the past, she pursued richness by constantly adding to her creations, but today she focuses on removing the unnecessary to reveal the purest form of art, reflecting her deeper understanding and pursuit of artistic purity.
Cindy's Feather series began in 2016 with the "Golden Feather Brooch," inspired by the Belle Époque era. Struck by portraits of women wearing feathered headpieces, she combined this with the elegance of haute couture. In 2017, Christie's Hong Kong recognised her as a leading jewellery designer, with the brooch auctioned for nearly twice its estimated value.
Among her standout works are the 2020 "Green Plumule Brooch" and the 2021 "Dawn Feather Brooch." Cindy masterfully combines titanium with emeralds and large gemstones to create the lightness and vitality of feathers. As her brand approaches its 20th anniversary, she continues to push the boundaries of craftsmanship, carrying forward her legacy of innovation and mastery in jewellery art.
