Original 78 RPM Record of “Longing for the Spring Breeze”

Era:1934 Exhibition loan unit:Mr. Hsu Teng-fang - Released in 1934 and performed by Chun-chun, “Longing for the Spring Breeze” became a landmark in Taiwanese popular music. With lyrics by Li Lin-ciou and music by Deng Yu-hsien, it was produced during Chen Jyun-yu’s tenure at Taiwan Columbia. The song portrays a young woman’s longing for love and reflects changing views on romantic freedom. It was later adapted into Japanese as “The Earth Beckons (Daichi wa maneku)”, sung by Kirishima Noboru, and reinterpreted as a “New Opera” (Shin-Kageki) with spoken and sung performance.
