Original 78 RPM Record of “Moonlit Night Sorrow”

Era:1933 Exhibition loan unit:Mr. Hsu Teng-fang - Released in 1933 and performed by Chun-chun, “Moonlit Night Sorrow” became a Taiwanese popular music standard. It was produced under Chen Jyun-yu at Taiwan Columbia, with lyrics by Jhou Tian-wang and music by Deng Yu-hsien. Although Jhou had not officially joined the label, his lyrics were already well known. The song, about waiting for a lover by the railway, resonated widely. During the Japanization period, it was reissued in Japanese as “Gunpu no Tsuma”, sung by Watanabe Hamako. A “New Opera” version also expanded the story with spoken narration and song.
