Lost in the Woods

Li-Shu, Huang

Mengzong bamboo, natural lacquer, silver foil / 160 x 122 x 72 cm Introduction Bamboo forests that are evergreen and sway in the wind are common in the mountainous areas of central Taiwan. They are made of the thick and upright bamboo bamboo, a unique species in Taiwan. Using traditional painting techniques, layer upon layer of lacquer grinding, bamboo and lacquer are combined to present the subtle and gorgeous colors unique to the East. For example, in the light and shadow of the moonlight, there are clumps of bamboo groves, different in distance and height, either realistic or lost. When you are in it, you hope to find the beauty of the bamboo grove.
