According to lyricist Lin Feng-ming, a close friend of Chen Jyun-yu, the songwriter lived in Shulin District around 1950, in a modest tǔqiàng cuò (earthen brick house). Lin once visited Chen’s home and recalled that he kept several chickens and always had fresh eggs. Inside the house remained Chen’s writing desk, where he would occasionally write new works. Aside from teaching, his days here, accompanied by his dog, were peaceful. This quiet home would later become Chen Jyun-yu’s final place of residence.
