Can we really grow good crops on a rooftop? We grow different plants in different seasons, such as cherry blossoms and wisteria in the spring, water spinach and sweet potato leaves in the summer, and lettuce and bok choy in the autumn and winter. We have also tried planting bananas on the green rooftop. Banana trees die after they flower and produce fruit, but we noticed new banana saplings growing nearby, which will continue the cycle of life and crop growth. We insist on growing local, environmentally-friendly crops, which we can share with our staff and neighbors after harvest. This green space also helps our colleagues and the public better understand rooftop crops and resource recycling.
