Taiwan is an island located in the southeastern part of the Asian continent, along the western Pacific coast, with an area of about 36,000km², approximately half the size of the Czech Republic.
Observing a map, you will find that Taiwan is not just an island surrounded by the sea but also a land with extensive high mountains and lush forests. Since ancient times, the inhabitants of the island have lived between the mountains and the sea, becoming skilled hunters and adept seamen.
This exhibition focuses on the hunters and seamen of the Taiwan indigenous peoples, who are part of the Austronesian language family. Through their adaptation to the environment, they have developed effective and environmentally friendly hunting techniques, creating the island's most beautiful cultural landscapes and traditions.
Let us transform into "hunters" and "seamen" and follow the footsteps and perspectives of Taiwan's indigenous peoples to explore the survival wisdom and the beauty of hunting techniques they have developed on this island.
