Our goal is for everyone to find their place in the industry and feel proud of the work they do." 苗栗地區出產最適於藺編的藺草,也在日據時期有著蓬勃發展的藺編工藝,這項曾 經是整個村落賴以為生的手工藝,卻在工業發展後式微與沒落,藺子身兼工藝品 牌、社會企業的角色,串連苗栗在地社區的藺草工藝產業鍊,涵蓋原料端的收購、 社區長者的技藝傳授、友善收購、傳統藺編的傳承與改良、商品設計創新、銷售等 一系列層面,復甦在地藺編工藝的同時,也賦能在地長者,為其帶來合理的收入, 建立個人價值,也延緩身體退化。 藺草錢包以最純粹的藺編工藝製成生活用品,由五種傳統編紋的呈現,表達藺編工 藝的多樣特色,根據藺子的分類,總計變化出26種編紋形式,而藺子也為每種編紋 命名,將以往僅有口述或簡易手繪的編紋技法以圖文資料記錄下建檔。 The Miaoli region is renowned for producing rush grass, the ideal material for weaving. During the Japanese colonial period, rush weaving thrived as a key craft that sustained entire villages. However, with industrial development, this tradition faded into obscurity. The social enterprise and craft brand Sunnyrush is revitalizing Miaoli’s rush weaving industry by connecting local communities through a comprehensive supply chain. This initiative includes purchasing raw materials, facilitating skill transmission from elderly community members, promoting fair trade practices, preserving and improving traditional weaving techniques, designing innovative products, and enhancing sales channels. The Rush Grass Wallet represents a pure expression of rush weaving craftsmanship, featuring five traditional weaving patterns that showcase the diversity of this art form. Altogether, Sunnyrush has categorized and documented 26 unique weaving patterns, preserving these techniques through detailed written and visual records. Beyond creating a market for these handmade products, Sunnyrush empowers local elders, providing them with fair income, reinforcing their sense of purpose, and helping to delay physical decline. 藺子 Sunnyrush 由廖怡雅、李易紳於2016年創辦藺子,其品牌關懷以藺編產業中的「人」為核心,同時關注產業鏈的生態、工藝師及其他利害關係人福祉。品牌訴求以延續老藝師手路,傳遞藺編美好為軸心,制定合理的友善收購價 格與當地近30位藺編職人合作,透過實際行動提升藺編產品的文化及經濟價值。 於此同時,藺子團隊也致力於藺編工法紀錄,將傳統多以口傳或手把手教學的藺編工法,透過文字及影像紀 錄,建立工法資料庫及人才培訓。近年致力於復甦藺草產業鏈,期望透過藺編工藝建立起對人對環境均友善 的生態鏈。 Founded in 2016 by Liao Yi-Ya and Li Yi-Shen, Sunnyrush is a brand dedicated to the people within the rush weaving industry, with a strong focus on the ecological aspects of the supply chain and the well-being of artisans and other stakeholders. Sunnyrush aims to preserve traditional craftsmanship, passing down the beauty of rush weaving through the legacy of master artisans. By offering fair and sustainable acquisition prices, the brand collaborates with 30 local artisans to enhance both the cultural and economic value of rush weaving products. Additionally, Sunnyrush is committed to documenting the techniques of rush weaving, which have traditionally been passed down through oral instruction or hands-on training. Through written records and imagery, the brand is building a comprehensive archive of these techniques while also providing talent development programs. In recent years, Sunnyrush has focused on revitalizing the rush grass supply chain, aiming to build an eco-friendly system that supports both people and the environment through rush weaving craftsmanship.
