Engraving marble “Virtuous, good, kind, and filial”

President Chiang Kai-shek inscribed the words “Virtuous, good, kind, and filial” as a gift for Faina’s 50th birthday in 1966, expressing appreciation for his daughter-in-law. In his diary entry on April 25, 1975, Chiang Ching-kuo recalled this event and remarked on the relationship between his father and wife: “My wife treasured this inscription, and not only kept the original but also had the characters engraved in stone and placed in the house. The day following my father’s death, I found my wife weeping in front of the stone engraving.”
