《織作與身體的輪廓》在當代材料中構織文化 《Weaving the Body’s Outline:》 Crafting Culture through Contemporary Materials

Fluorescent PVC thread
Grounded in the embodied practices of traditional techniques such as braiding, dyeing, weaving and knotting, my work draws upon the cultural context and physical memory embedded in craft. For me, making is not merely a reproduction of skill, but a form of knowledge shaped through labour and touch.
In this installation, fluorescent PVC threads serve as both material and language—unfolding into layered, mountain-like formations within space. Each strand is pulled, looped and interlaced by hand, translating the spirit of traditional methods into a contemporary vocabulary. These actions are no longer just technical operations, but a response to craft, culture and place.
The work foregrounds the presence of the body and the visibility of labour, tracing cultural threads into tangible form. As viewers move within and around the piece, they co-weave a landscape of perception—where movement, memory and material meet.
